After defeating tenacious Burnley, Unai Emery discloses the strategy for the Aston Villa team.
The players of Aston Villa will take some well-earned time off after defeating Burnley 3-2 at Villa Park to end the year on a high note.
Over the past five weeks, Villa has participated in ten games across all competitions. Despite this, Unai Emery’s team
has only suffered one loss, which came on Boxing Day when they gave up a two-goal lead at Old Trafford. Villa
bounced back from the loss with a crucial three points against Burnley, and are now in second position, trailing
leaders Liverpool just by goal differential.
“The satisfaction is high because we closed at home here this year and we are in day 20, we got the points,” Emery
stated. “We are grateful for the intensely concentrated game our players performed today.
“We performed on January 1 of last year, and on December 31 we spent the night at a hotel in London. We will have
three days off this year: tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday.
“I told the players that we need to be very responsible as professionals when we prepare for every game. After that,
we can take a few days off and regain our energy.”
