After Iñigo Idiakez, the U21 coach, was appointed as Real Unión’s new manager,

Aston Villa began to make an impact on the Spanish team.

That’s according to El Diario Vasco, which claims that manager Fran Justo lost his job shortly after the Txuribeltz club and Aston Villa officially announced their collaborative arrangement.

According to the publication, the San Sebastian native had coached Aston Villa’s U-21 squad.

However, Villa has started to make “strategic decisions” at the Stadium Gal,

and the management change is the first indication of this.

Although Justo was informed of the decision a few days prior,

the team’s official return following the Christmas break occurred on Tuesday.

Idiakez has only been with Aston Villa’s academy since the summer, and as a result,

he is leaving England to rejoin a team where he spent eight seasons playing.

Last month, Nassef Sawiris, the president and co-owner of Aston Villa,

travelled to Stadium Gal to sign the agreement with Igor Emery,

the president of the Spanish team, and his brother, Unai Emery.

This completed the arrangement between Villa and Real Unión.

Since then, the former has clarified how the agreement would operate,

and it appears that this management change is the initial action that needs to be done.
