Alasdair Gold shares injury update on Cristian Romero after Tottenham beat Everton
Even though Tottenham defeated Everton in the end tonight, star defender Cristian Romero has some worries.
But it does look like it could be a troublesome looking injury for Romero, and there’ll be some nervous faces at the club as they await the diagnosis.
Romero appears to have injured his hamstring, according to Football London’s Alasdair Gold. The reporter notes that during the second half, the defender was wearing an ice pack strapped to him in the dugout.
Romero injury will be a nightmare for Tottenham
While Gold does make the point here that Romero was in the dugout getting treatment so it might suggest a minor problem, this is a worry for Spurs.
They have suffered some big injuries this season and it’s threatened to derail their campaign. The likes of Maddison and Van de Ven, of course, being the main issues.
However, Romero’s hamstring injury will also need to be properly managed, which will be difficult over the hectic holiday season.
Without a doubt, Ange Postecoglou will be waiting for the results from his medical team. With Romero out, Eric Dier will probably receive an opportunity given the club’s current center-back problems.
Therefore, January can’t arrive soon enough for Spurs, and if Romero is truly out, they may need to move quickly given rumors of Jean-Clair Todibo signing.
