Skip Bayless Says 1 Cowboys Player Might Be ‘Way Overrated’
The Dallas Cowboys defense has been at the top of the NFL for most of the season this year, but just gave up 31 points to the Buffalo Bills and a disappointing loss
The game soured what was trending toward a big year for Dallas, as the Cowboys were on track to win the NFC East and potentially take the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The Cowboys remain one of the best teams in the NFL, though, and a lot of that is thanks to the play of edge rusher Micah Parsons.
Parsons has more than 12 sacks in a season for the third consecutive year and is the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year.
However, he only has one sack in three games, and Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless doesn’t think Parson can live up to lofty comparisons to Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor.
“Maybe he’s not big enough, maybe he’s not strong enough, maybe he’s not physical enough,” Bayless said. “Maybe he’s just not bad*** enough. Or maybe he’s just been way overhyped, overrated – starting with me, by me.”
Bayless is known for his in-the-moment overreactions, and this is certainly one of them.
Parsons hasn’t produced noticeable stats recently, but he remains one of the best pure pass rushers in the NFL.
He ranks No. 1 in double teams and still has the most pass rush wins and the highest pass rush win rate, per ESPN.
Opposing offenses have to be aware of him at all times and he plays into head coaches’ game plans every week.
It’s a little too early to call Parsons overhyped – especially considering his current output as well as his potential DPOY award.
